Instructors

Tiffany Hall Owen is a native of eastern Kentucky and holds several dance degrees. Her dance background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts from Virginia Intermont College, Bristol, VA as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. She has 16 years of teaching experience in ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, pom and contemporary. She has been coaching and choreographing competitive dance for 10 years. She has served as adjunct dance faculty, teaching ballet and modern at Virginia Intermont College, adjunct faculty at East Tennessee State University and was a professor of dance at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Tiffany also taught at Extreme Dance Studio in Abingdon, Va., Studio Dance in Elizabethton, TN, Studio One in Kingsport, TN. She has been with the Dance 

Gallery in various positions since the studio’s opening in 2004. Tiffany’s performance experience includes performing for Doug Varone, Lynda Davis & the Florida State University Repertory Theater, Mountain Movers Dance Company of Johnson City, TN as well as performing her own choreography. She has taught and/or attended dance conferences in Miami, FL, Nashville, TN, Cape Girardeau, MO, Chattanooga, TN and was invited to perform and teach at the Summer Intercontinental Dance Festival hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2007. She continually updates her training through workshops at conventions in New York, Los Angles, Boston and Phoenix and dances at the Broadway Dance Center in New York on a regular basis.

Holly Hamilton Wood is a graduate of Shelby Valley High School where she was a four year member of the award winning Shelby Valley Danz Cats. She is a graduate of the University of Pikeville, She is married to Brian Wood and has a daughter named Lillian and a son named Sammy. She has served as coach for Shelby Valley High School Danz Cats and The Dance Gallery Competition Teams. The Senior Team was the highest scoring team in their division at Starbound Dance Competition in Charlotte, N.C., won platinum.

high platinum awards at The Dance Machine in Sevierville, TN and Holly and the team won a National Championship at the Ameridance National Competition in Myrtle Beach, N.C. She has a combined total of ten years of training through The Dance Gallery with Tiffany Owen and the University of Pikeville with Peggy Davis. Holly is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pom and Lyrical. Holly will be teaching Tap I, Tap II, Tap 3/4, Tap 5/6, Lyrical, Jazz and Pom.

Whitney Branham Johnson began taking studio dance classes at the age of three at Pikeville College and later attended Dance Etc. until graduation from high school. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pom. She performed annually in The Nutcracker in which she danced many parts including lead roles & solos such as The Sugar Plum Fairy, Arabian, and The Dew Drop Fairy. All through high school she was a member of the Dance Etc. Senior Elite competition team. After graduating high school Whitney moved to Bowling Green, Ky where she 

lived for several years and attended college at Western Kentucky University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Design, Merchandising, & Textiles. She danced collegiately as a 4 year member of the WKU Topperettes Dance Team cheering/dancing on sidelines and performing at football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and volleyball games as well as doing community service, community appearances, and competing at college nationals. At the beginning of her last semester of college she started teaching dance at Starz Elite Performance Academy in Bowling Green for a few years. Through all the years Whitney has attended dance conventions and classes taught by well known & famous choreographers, has also attended dance camps, many competitions, and has received various dance awards & honors. She recently attended the DanceTeachers Convention in Phoenix Arizona for additional training. Miss Whitney is married to Tyler Johnson.​

 Owners

Courtney Robinson danced at Shelby Valley High School as a Danz Cat and cheered at Alice Lloyd College. She has her Master's degree in School Administration and Rank 1 in School Supervision. She presently teaches Physical Education at Valley Elementary School. 

Shurella Hall organized the Shelby Valley Danz Cats when the school was first opened and worked with the team for twenty five years. She was the Youth Services Center Coordinator at Shelby Valley High School and retired in 2015.
